Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters, capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, confirming whether it operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA, then select the control power for closing the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that accommodates the FLA determined earlier. Additionally, consider the incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" if line power is used for control, "separate control voltage" if line and control voltages differ, or "remote start terminals" if an external switch is utilized. The optional configuration can also include "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" when different voltages are used. Key features of this motor starter include a rating of 12A for three-phase applications, remote start terminals, a reset button, a coil voltage range of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated for 10-13A.
