Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring to confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor, and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Subsequently, select your starter based on optional criteria, including incoming power: if the line power will be used as the control power, this is a direct-online starter; if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is called a "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, terminals for control power input can be added, known as "remote start terminals." If remote start terminals are required and different voltages for line power and control power are used, this is classified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 12A 3-phase direct online reset button, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 7.6-10A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
