Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To ensure the selection of the appropriate starter, it is crucial to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. A starter should be chosen with a current rating higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, the control power used to close the contactor must be identified, and the overload should fall within a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations; a "direct-on-line starter" utilizes line power as control power, while "separate control voltage" indicates that the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, the starter can include terminals designated for remote start, with the assumption that the line and control voltages are the same, or in cases of differing voltages, specified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features of the starters include a 12A 3-phase direct online reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 4.2-5.7A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
