Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The selection process also includes choosing the control power used to close the contactor and selecting the overload based on a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria include the incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" where line power is the control power, "separate control voltage" where the control voltage differs from line voltage, and options for "remote start terminals" for activating the starter from an external switch. The features of these starters include a 12 A 1-phase separate control voltage start/stop, a control coil voltage of 24-60 V AC/DC, and a 5.7-7.6 A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
