Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should first verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor nameplate, considering the input voltage and whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter must be rated for a current higher than the FLA. The control power type used to activate the contactor must also be chosen, along with selecting the overload from a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" utilizes line power for control, while separate control voltage systems utilize different voltages. Additionally, remote start terminals can be added for external switch activation, with options available for configurations using varying line and control voltages. The key features of the starter include a 12A 1-phase configuration with separate control voltage and remote start terminals, capable of start/stop control with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and a 7.6-10A overload relay.
