Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. It is crucial to choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power for closing the contactor must also be selected, along with the overload relay by picking a current range that includes the motor's FLA. The starters can be configured based on options such as incoming power—either using line power as control power (direct-online starter) or separate control voltage. For activating the starter from an external switch, options for remote start terminals are available, depending on whether the line and control voltages are the same or different. Notable features of these starters include a 12A 1-phase separate control voltage reset button, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 4.2-5.7A overload relay, all housed within a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
