Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter consists of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Confirm whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power and ensure the starter is rated for a higher current than the FLA of the motor. Choose the control power needed to close the contactor, and select the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. The starter can then be chosen based on optional criteria such as incoming power type; this includes direct-on-line starters if the line power is also used for control, or separate control voltage if they differ. If activation from an external switch is required, remote start terminals can be added. The features of this model include a rating of 12A, 1 phase, separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop function, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and overload protection ranging from 7.6-10A, all contained in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
