Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power used to close the contactor and the overload current range that encompasses the FLA of the motor should be selected accordingly. Additionally, options include choosing between direct-online starters or separate control voltage configurations. If control voltage does not match line voltage, or if the starter needs activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added. This motor starter features a rating of 16 A, operates on 3-phase power, supports direct online start/stop functions, and accommodates a coil voltage range of 250-500 V AC/DC with an overload of 7.6-10 A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
