Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To determine the appropriate starter for your needs, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage supplied, ensuring to identify if the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. Select a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA. For the control power, choose whether to use the line power as the control power, which is termed a "direct-online starter," or a separate control voltage. If activation from an external switch is needed, the configuration should include remote start terminals for the control power input. Notable features of the motor starter include 16A 3-phase remote start terminals for start/stop functionality, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated between 7.6-10A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
