Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload must be chosen by selecting a current range that contains the motor's FLA. The decision-making process can be further refined by evaluating the incoming power: a "direct-online starter" uses line power as the control power, while "separate control voltage" indicates differing control and line voltages. For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, assuming line and control voltages are the same; if different, this configuration is termed "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Specific features of the motor starter include 16A rating, 3-phase capability, separate coil voltage, start/stop functionality, and a 100-250V AC/DC coil, with an overload range of 7.6-10A.
