Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload must be chosen from a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: a "direct-on-line starter" if line power is used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, which is suitable for both the same and different voltage for line and control power, referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The kit features a 16A 3-phase direct online start/stop with a 250-500V AC/DC coil, providing an overload range of 4.2-5.7A.
