Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed to handle up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your application, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate based on the input voltage. Ensure to confirm the power type as either single-phase or three-phase and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor should also be considered, followed by selecting the overload using a current range that encompasses the FLA from the previous step. Additional selection criteria include the incoming power type, which can be a "direct-online starter" if the line power is used for control or "separate control voltage" if different. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, with options for "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are used. The features of the starter include 16A, three-phase operation, a separate coil voltage along with remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 4.2-5.7A overload relay within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
