Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60 HP or 80 A. Each assembled motor starter comprises a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring whether the application uses single-phase or three-phase power. The starter must be chosen with a current rating exceeding the FLA. Additionally, the control power used to actuate the contactor and the overload relay should be specified based on a current range that encompasses the FLA identified earlier. Optional configurations include selecting between a direct-online starter using line power as control power, separate control voltage if different from line voltage, and remote start terminals for external switch activation. The features of these motor starters include 16 A three-phase remote start terminals, a start/stop capability with a 250-500 V AC/DC coil, and a 13-16 A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
