Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with power capabilities reaching up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters are comprised of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To ensure the proper selection of a starter, it is crucial to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate, taking into account the input voltage and whether the power is single-phase or three-phase. The starter must be rated for a current (amps) that exceeds the FLA. Control power must be chosen to actuate the contactor, and the overload must cover a current range accommodating the FLA determined earlier. Additionally, there are optional criteria for selection: if the incoming line power also serves as the control power, this is designated as a "direct-online starter." In cases where the control and line voltages differ, options include "separate control voltage" and configurations with "remote start terminals," which allow activation from an external switch, assuming the same line and control voltage. The features of the kit include a 16A, 3-phase setup with separate control voltage and remote start terminals, complete with start/stop functionality, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 7.6-10A overload relay.
