Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with capabilities up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is crucial to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate based on the input voltage supplied, ensuring the correct selection between single-phase or three-phase power. To optimize selection, ensure to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, determine the control power for activating the contactor, and select the overload relay with a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for configuration include determining whether to use a "direct-online starter" where line power also serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" when the control voltage differs from line voltage. Additionally, options for remote start terminals are available for activation from an external switch, assuming consistent voltage between line and control. Specific features of the starter include a rating of 16A, 3-phase operation, separate control voltage, a reset button, a coil voltage range of 24-60V AC/DC, and an overload range of 7.6-10A, all housed within a NEMA 4X Poly enclosure.
