Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor should also be selected, alongside the overload by picking a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the incoming power configuration; if the line power serves as the control power, it is categorized as a "direct-online starter." If the control voltage differs from the line voltage, it is termed "separate control voltage." For activation via external switches, the starter can include terminals for control power input, referred to as "remote start terminals," and if different voltages are employed for line and control power along with remote start terminals, it is classified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The starters feature a 16A 3-phase configuration with a separate coil voltage and remote start terminals, along with a reset button, supporting 100-250V AC/DC coil and an overload relay rating of 13-16A, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
