Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and are housed in a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, it's essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Confirm whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power, and choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor should then be determined, followed by selecting the overload based on a current range that contains the FLA. The optional criteria for selection include incoming power types, such as "direct-online starter" for using line power as control power, "separate control voltage" when different voltages are used, or "remote start terminals" for activation via an external switch. If different line and control voltages are used with remote start terminals, this is classified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The motor starters feature 16A 3-phase compatibility, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 13-16A overload relay.
