Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A, which include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor's nameplate, ensuring that the chosen starter is rated for a current higher than the FLA, while also confirming whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. The control power used to close the contactor must be identified, and the overload relay should be chosen based on a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Additionally, several optional criteria can be selected: the incoming power can be configured as either a "direct-online starter" for matching control and line voltage or as "separate control voltage" for differing voltages; if activation from an external switch is needed, "remote start terminals" can be included. The features of this kit include a 16A 3-phase separate coil voltage, a reset button, a coil voltage of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated for 7.6-10A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
