Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To properly select a starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, considering whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) greater than the FLA of the motor. The control power for the contactor must be specified, along with selecting the overload by ensuring the current range encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power types: direct-online starter when line power is also the control power, separate control voltage when different voltages are used, and configurations with remote start terminals for external switches. This model features 16A 3-phase remote start terminals, reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated at 4.2-5.7A, all housed within a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
