Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied by referring to the motor or equipment nameplate, and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and then choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA. Optional criteria include incoming power configurations such as "direct-online starter" if the line power serves as the control power, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, terminals can be added for control power input, known as "remote start terminals," with the same assumption regarding line and control voltage. This model features a capacity of 16A for 3-phase, with a separate control voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, and a coil range of 24-60V AC/DC, as well as an overload relay rated at 13-16A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
