Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor nameplate for the input voltage, ensuring to identify whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power, and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the motor's FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be determined. The overload relay is selected by finding a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the incoming power type, with configurations such as a "direct-online starter" for the same line and control voltage, or "separate control voltage" when both voltages differ. Additionally, options for remote start terminals can be specified if activation is required from an external switch. The key features of the starter include a rating of 16A, three-phase capability, separate control voltage, a reset button only, and coil specifications of 24-60V AC/DC with an overload relay range of 4.2-5.7A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
