Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, choose the control power used to close the contactor and select the overload by picking a current range that includes the motor's FLA. The selection can be further refined based on optional criteria: for incoming power, if line power will be used for control power, it's a "direct-online starter"; if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, choose "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, use "remote start terminals," which assume the line and control voltages are the same; if different, select "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include 16A 3-phase direct online, reset button only, and a 100-250V AC/DC coil with a 5.7-7.6A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
