Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to check if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that includes the FLA from the previous step. Optional criteria include incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" if the line power is used as control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from line voltage, or "remote start terminals" if activation is needed from an external switch. An additional configuration for remote start terminals with different line and control voltages is labeled as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals."
