Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. The starter should be rated for a current higher than the FLA. Additionally, select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria to consider include incoming power, control voltage compatibility (direct-online starter versus separate control voltage), and remote start terminals for activation from an external switch. The features of the starters include 16A, 3-phase capability, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and an overload protection range of 4.2-5.7A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
