Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of supporting motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage supplied, ensuring to check if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Select a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Choose the control power for closing the contactor and the overload based on a current range including the motor’s FLA. Options for selection include "direct-online starter" for line power control, "separate control voltage" for differing line and control voltages, and "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch. Additional criteria include features such as a 16A 1-phase separate control voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop 24-60V AC/DC coil, 13-16A overload relay, and the NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
