Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with capabilities of up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your application, you should first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) that exceeds the FLA of the motor. Next, select the control power for closing the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA determined previously. Optional criteria include selecting incoming power configurations, whereby "Direct-Online Starter" indicates that line power is also used as control power, while "Separate Control Voltage" indicates a differing control voltage. Additionally, "Remote Start Terminals" allows activation from an external switch, assuming the line voltage and control voltage are the same; otherwise, the combination of "Separate Control Voltage + Remote Start Terminals" is applicable. Key features of the kit include a 16A 1-phase separate control voltage start/stop configuration, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 5.7-7.6A overload relay within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
