Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be determined, along with selecting an overload that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power, categorized as "direct-online starter" if line power is utilized as control power, or "separate control voltage" if different voltages are used. Additional configurations such as "remote start terminals" can be included for activation from an external switch. The features of the motor starter include a 16A 1-phase separate coil voltage reset button, a coil range of 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated at 13-16A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
