Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A, which include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for amps higher than the FLA, then select the control power used to close the contactor and the overload by selecting a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include the incoming power type: a "direct-online starter," where line power is also the control power, or a "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs. For external activation from a switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, and if using different voltages, it is designated as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The attributes of the starter include 16A, 1 phase, separate control voltage, reset button only, 24-60V AC/DC coil, 10-13A overload, and the NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
