Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power, and choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power for closing the contactor must also be selected, along with the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. The options available for starter selection include incoming power configurations, such as using line power for control, known as a "direct-online starter," or employing "separate control voltage" if the line voltage differs from the control voltage. Additionally, for activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be included, or combined with separate control voltage if different voltages are used. Key features of the starter include 16A 1-phase remote start terminals for start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, a 5.7-7.6A overload rating, and the durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
