Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, taking into account whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Ensure that the starter is rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor and choose the control power used to close the contactor. Select the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the FLA determined earlier. Optional features include the option for incoming power to be used as control power, referred to as a "direct-online starter," or if different, as "separate control voltage." For external activation, you can opt for "remote start terminals" which assume that the line and control voltages are the same; however, if they differ, this is addressed with "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The kit features 16A remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 4.2-5.7A, all housed within a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
