Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters incorporate a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your needs, begin by verifying the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage you plan to supply, ensuring you identify whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter with a current rating higher than the FLA. Additionally, select the control power required to operate the contactor and the overload by choosing a current range that includes the FLA identified earlier. Further selection criteria include the type of incoming power: for a Direct-On-Line starter, the line power is also used as the control power; for Separate Control Voltage, the control voltage differs from line voltage; and for Remote Start Terminals, which facilitate activation from an external switch, it is assumed that line and control voltages are the same. If you require remote start terminals with different line and control voltages, this is categorized as Separate Control Voltage + Remote Start Terminals.
