Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. The selected starter should be rated for current higher than the FLA. Choose the control power used to close the contactor and select the overload based on a current range that includes the FLA. Additional options include choosing between a direct-online starter, where the line power is also used for control, or a separate control voltage solution. For activation via an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, which assume that the line voltage and control voltage are the same unless specified as separate control voltage + remote start terminals. Key features include a 26A 3-phase direct online start/stop function, 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 24-29A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
