Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with capabilities up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To properly select a starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring to confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter must be rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA. Next, determine the control power for the contactor. For the overload, select a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the incoming power type—if the line power is used as control power, it is considered a "direct-online starter," while differing control and line voltages signify "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, assuming line and control voltages are the same, or specified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are to be used. Key features encompass a 26A 3-phase separate coil voltage as well as remote start terminals for start/stop, supporting a 100-250V AC/DC coil and a 24-29A overload, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
