Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with power ratings up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to confirm the full load amperage (FLA) at the supply voltage, ensuring to distinguish between 1-phase and 3-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. Control power options must be identified for closing the contactor, and the overload relay must be selected from a current range that includes the FLA determined earlier. Additional criteria for selection involve the incoming power type, where "direct-online starter" utilizes line power as control power, while "separate control voltage" indicates differing control and line voltages. For scenarios requiring activation from an external switch, remote start terminals are provided, allowing for additional control configurations. Key features include a 26A 3-phase separate control voltage start/stop, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, and a 20-24A overload relay, all housed within the durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
