Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to confirm the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring to identify if the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. It is critical to select a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA identified. The control power used to close the contactor must also be chosen, along with selecting an overload by determining a current range that includes the motor's FLA. The starter options can then be further refined based on incoming power requirements, where a "direct-online starter" utilizes line power for control, whereas separate control voltage setups require different voltages for line and control power. Additionally, remote start terminals can be added for activation from an external switch if needed. The specifications of the motor starter kit include features such as a 26A rating, compatibility for 3-phase power, direct online operation, a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay range of 13-16A, all packaged within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
