Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A, designed for various applications. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to note whether it operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The selection process also involves determining the control power used to close the contactor and selecting an overload with a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" uses line power for control, while "separate control voltage" indicates a different control voltage. For activation via an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, which is applicable if line and control voltages are the same. If different voltages are used, the configuration will reflect "separate control voltage + remote start terminals."
