Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60hp or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, the control power used to close the contactor must be selected, along with an overload that includes a current range containing the motor's FLA. The options for incoming power include a "direct-online starter," where line power also serves as control power, or a "separate control voltage" where the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For external switch activation, "remote start terminals" can be added. Features include a 26A 3-phase separate control voltage reset button with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and a 16-20A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
