Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed to accommodate motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To properly select a starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, ensuring to confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter that is rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to operate the contactor. Additionally, choose an overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA determined previously, which should narrow down the suitable starter options. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power designation: if the line power will be used as control power, it is categorized as a "direct-online starter"; otherwise, it is classified as a "separate control voltage." For starters that need activation from an external switch, terminals for control power inputs are included, known as "remote start terminals." There is also an option for "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are to be used. The key features include 26A 1-phase remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 24-29A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
