Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with a capacity of up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, confirming whether the motor requires 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Additionally, select the control power for closing the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a range that encompasses the FLA. The starter options can be refined further based on criteria such as incoming power, which can be a direct-online starter if line power is used as control power, or a separate control voltage configuration if different voltages are employed. For external activation, remote start terminals can be added, assuming the line and control voltages are the same unless specified otherwise. Key features include a 26A 1-phase separate coil voltage start/stop, a coil rating of 100-250V AC/DC, and a 16-20A overload relay in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
