Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether the power is single-phase or three-phase. The starter must be rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor, and the control power for the contactor must be chosen accordingly. Overload selection should encompass a current range that includes the motor's FLA. The selection process includes optional criteria such as incoming power configuration, with options for "direct-online starter," "separate control voltage," or "remote start terminals" for external activation.
