Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, one should verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to check if the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. The selected starter must be rated for a current (amps) exceeding the FLA. The control power for closing the contactor must be specified, followed by selecting an overload relay that fits within the current range of the FLA. Optional criteria include selecting incoming power; for example, a "direct-online starter" uses line power as control power, while "separate control voltage" denotes different voltages for line and control. For external control activation, "remote start terminals" can be added, assuming line and control voltages are the same or are designated as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" for differing voltages. Key features of the motor starter include a 26A 3-phase separate coil voltage, remote start terminals, a reset button, and compatibility with a 250-500V AC/DC coil and 20-24A overload protection, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
