Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor and choosing a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor, followed by choosing the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power; for example, a "direct-online starter" uses line power as control power, while "separate control voltage" indicates differing line and control voltages. Remote start terminals can be added for activation from an external switch, and the features include a 26 A 1-phase remote start terminal, start/stop functionality, a 100-250 V AC/DC coil, and a 16-20 A overload relay in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
