Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for use with motors up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm whether the motor operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, identify the control power used to close the contactor and select an overload that encompasses the motor's FLA. Options to consider include incoming power configuration: "direct-online starter" if line power also serves as control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from line voltage, or configurations incorporating "remote start terminals" for external switch activation, with possible combinations of separate control voltage and remote start terminals.
