Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with capabilities up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To choose the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, confirming the type of power (single-phase or three-phase). It is essential to select a starter with an amp rating higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power used to activate the contactor must also be determined, followed by selecting the overload based on a current range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power; a "direct-online starter" utilizes the line power as control power, whereas "separate control voltage" indicates different line and control voltages. For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, and if different voltages are used, the arrangement would be "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The motor starters feature 38A three-phase capability with remote start terminals, a start/stop function, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and 20-24A overload protection in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
