Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for up to 60HP or 80A applications. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and is housed within a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should first verify the full load amperage (FLA) of their motor or equipment at the specified input voltage, confirming whether it operates on 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter should be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Next, the control power used to close the contactor must be determined, followed by the selection of an overload relay suitable for the motor's FLA. Additional optional criteria include the type of incoming power, which can be either a direct-online starter (using line power for control) or a separate control voltage if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, assuming that the line voltage and control voltage match. If different voltages are utilized, the configuration is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The starter features include 38A capacity, 3-phase functionality, separate coil voltage, start/stop control, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 35-40A overload relay.
