Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage and confirm if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, as well as the control power used to close the contactor. Select the overload by choosing a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. The options include a "direct-online starter" if the line power is used as control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, and configurations for "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch, which can accommodate different line and control voltages. Key features of the motor starter consist of a 26A 1-phase direct online configuration with a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 13-16A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
