Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with capacity up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters comprise a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, and confirm if it is 1 phase or 3 phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power necessary to close the contactor must also be specified, along with selecting the overload by choosing a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power; if line power is used as control power, it is classified as a "direct-online starter," while differing control voltage is termed "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" are included, which assume line and control voltages are identical unless specified otherwise with "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include a 38A 3 phase direct online starter with a reset button, a coil rated for 100-250V AC/DC, and an overload relay rated at 29-35A.
