Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with capabilities up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. It is recommended to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power to close the contactor must also be selected, alongside an overload range that encompasses the FLA. Optional criteria for selection includes the type of incoming power: a "direct-online starter" if line power serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" if different. For activation via an external switch, "remote start terminals" are provided, assuming line and control voltages are identical. If using distinct voltages for line and control power, the configuration is termed "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features consist of 38 A 3-phase remote start terminals, start/stop capability, a 100-250 V AC/DC coil, and a 29-35 A overload, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
