Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configuration: "Direct-Online Starter" if line power is used for control, "Separate Control Voltage" if control voltage differs from line voltage, or "Remote Start Terminals" if activation is needed from an external switch. The features of the motor starter include a rating of 38 A, 3-phase operation, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 250-500 V AC/DC coil, a 16-20 A overload relay, and compliance with NEMA 4X polycarbonate standards.
