Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage; ensure to confirm if the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power, and choose a starter rated for current (amps) above the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be determined, alongside selecting the overload by choosing a current range that includes the FLA. Optional criteria for the starter selection include the type of incoming power, with options for direct-on-line starters, separate control voltage, or configurations that accommodate remote start terminals for external switch activation. The specific features of the motor starter include a 38A rating for three-phase operation, remote start terminals, a reset button, a coil voltage range of 250-500V AC/DC, a 35-40A overload relay, and a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
